Week8 Improve Chinese with Crazie

Time for our monthly language exchange with both Chinese and English learners.

Activity: We will warm up with 2 truths and a lie in breakout rooms in English and then in Chinese. You need to come up with 3 facts about yourself and one has to be a lie and let the others guess which one is a lie. For example: 1. Crazie is a Chinese teacher. 2. Crazie loves sewing. 3. Crazie is in the US. Which one is a lie?

After that, we play a game called - 10 questions in a small group. One person thinks about one item and the rest of the group ask that person "yes or no" questions until someone guessed correctly and then to the next person. For example, I am thinking to myself a word: "headphones". You can ask me:"is it a thing that you use in the kitchen?" I say:"no" another person asks:"is it something you need to use electricity with" I say: Yes! the next person can guess "is it a phone" "is it xx" Each person in the group has a maximum of 3 chances to guess. If nobody guessed correctly, the person shows the item and get a point. :)

Thursday Feb 23rd Chinese Conversation Shuffle 7:00-7:30AM EST

First round: Get to know each other in a small group, then move to the topic for the day:

Describe what an ideal job looks like for you. Use words and expressions that you are familiar with, and refrain from using translation tools exclusively. Try to include when, why, where, who, what, and how in your description.

Second round: Change up the small groups but discuss the same topic.

Third round: Everyone back to the big room and report briefly what you discussed.

Tips: Bring a pen and pencil to take notes on what was said by your partners
